- HORKESKART (choir+ orchestra + Skart)
At the end of fall 2000. Skart was invited to present its
self-published action
YOUR SHIT-YOUR RESPONSIBILITY in a Center for Cultural
Decontamination.
On that occasion, the Choir had to be formed in order to perform song “Svete krave”(Holy cows) by Arsen Dedic. By B92 radio announcement listeners were invited to come to the audition which was never actually carried out because all the participants were accepted with no music testing. Since then, HORKESKART continues to practice
(first in center for Cultural Decontamination,
and now in National library and REX) and to perform (starting from provincial elementary schools
, refugee camps and markets to Museum
of Contemporary Art, Ring-Ring festival of New music...).
conductor(s):
After collaboration with professional conductors
(Ljiljana Santovac, Ljiljana Danilovic-Cincarka, Zoran Petrovic) choir have chosen a different path: self-regeneration. Marija Balubdzic, who joined the choir as 17 year old pianist (precisely -
she played triangle on the first concert!!!), became the main conductor 3 years ago and thereby challenged the choir: could a collective obey to “one of us” ? And -it worked out. Members of the choir started bringing their own songs and arrangements (Luka Stanisavljevic, Zeljko Makivic) , and orchestra ( lead by Vladimir Zivkovic) started to work on repertoire. The latest achievements are proof that everything makes sense. Let’s go forward!
